The morning after Writer’s Block, we’re doing something new.
On April 17, Ellis Paul will lead a small, hands-on songwriting workshop at Muso in Madison.
This will be a working session focused on the craft of songwriting — lyrics, structure, storytelling, and the decisions that turn an idea into a lasting song.
We’re keeping the group very small (10–12 writers) so the conversation can stay thoughtful and practical.
Because of that, there’s no public ticket link.

We’re excited to announce the first Writer’s Block of 2026.
Join us April 16 at The Bartell Theatre as we kick off a new season of songs and stories with three incredible writers sharing the stage in the Nashville tradition of a Songwriters in the Round.

Let’s get small.
Connection doesn’t need a stadium.
Sometimes it only needs a room, a story, and a song that tells the truth.

Stopped by Forward Craft & Coffee for Vinyl Night and was surprised to hear a record from Grace Pettis one of our past Writer’s Block artists spinning on the turntable. Moments like that remind me what this community is all about — songs that stay with you.
