Disability Pride Madison is looking for teens who identify as disabled or as having one or more disabilities to take charge in putting together and leading a teen tent for the 2026 Disability Pride Festival (July 25, 12-5pm at Warner Park).

If this sounds of interest to you, we encourage you to fill out the interest form so that we can be in touch. Additionally, if you know a teen who you think would be interested, we would love for you to pass the form along to them! Access the interest form by scanning the QR code on the flyer or go to our profile page and click the link in our LinkTree.

We will be having a Zoom meeting in early May to share more information and to hear ideas from interested teens.

Disabled and Here:
Invisible Disabilities in the Workplace
May 4, 2026, 11:30 – 1:00 virtual

Not all disabilities are visible.
According to the CDC, about half of the people with disabilities in the U.S, 33 million adults, have an “invisible” or “nonapparent disability” like Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, mental health disabilities, chronic pain, and more. Workers with invisible disabilities are about half as likely (47%) to disclose a disability at work. Additionally, their access needs might be less understood by others (SHRM, 2023).

Join us for a conversation with Ly Xīnzhèn M. Zhǎngsūn Brown and Nikyra McCann about the lived experiences of workers with nonapparent disabilities and how to foster neuro-inclusive workplaces.

This event is hosted by the Disability Resource Group, a City of Madison staff affinity group, and sponsored by the Department of Civil Rights. The Disability Resource Group hosts events through the year that are open to all City staff and members of the public.
