Madison Georgia Police Department

This morning, someone using a local number (though likely a spoofed number) has contacted at least one individual claiming to be a Madison Police Officer. The caller utilized the name of an actual officer, and threatened to arrest the victim if payment was not provided for a "missed court date".
Please be aware that NO local law enforcement agency will contact you by phone to solicit your money. If you receive such a call, do not provide any personal information and hang up.

Please join us in welcoming Officer C. Burket. Burket joins us with 3 years of previous law enforcement experience and is a 18 year veteran of the US Army. Burket has started our field training program and after successful completion will join our patrol division. This morning he was sworn in by Mayor Perriman. North Main St will not be closed tomorrow, January 27th for the tree removal process. Proper permitting by the tree cutting crew was not completed in time.

Tree Removal & Street Closure
Remember a little over a year ago when Georgia Department of Transportation informed us of tree removal on N. Main Street and then it never happened? We have a new date: Friday, January 27, 2023 - just over a week away.

This is going to be a big operation involving a crane that will shut N. Main (Burney St. to College Dr.) down for the day. We are working with GDOT to get the word out about their operation in our town. Please spread the word to avoid N. Main that day.
