What a morning, volunteering with a great group of kayakers to keep swimmers safe in the IRONMAN USA – Midwest 70.3 Rockford!

We had more than 80 volunteering along the Rock River in downtown Rockford. They had to be there by 5:30AM to help.

As a co-captain, I had the honor of escorting the lead swimmers down the Rock, hence the rearview mirror on my hat! I had to keep a close eye that they didn't get too close. That current was moving them right along!

Who says you can’t get to the airport by kayak? Close anyway.

Beat this afternoon’s forecast, and took advantage of the high water level on Starkweather Creek early this morning and paddled out near the end of the Dane County Regional Airport runway to do some .
