Building resilient food communities by investing in farmers and empowering eaters. Supporting thriving farms, vibrant communities, and fresh food for all.

FairShare works hard to support farmers. But no single organization or person can provide ALL the resources a farm needs to thrive.

That’s why extended networks of support, like the Midwest Vegetable Growers Network (MVEG) organized by FairShare, are so important.

Before joining MVEG, Dan struggled to find organic-specific information to share with the vegetable growers he serves through his work at Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Through MVEG, Dan now has a strong network of colleagues across the Midwest he can rely on to find the best resources for those growers.

Organic vegetable growing can be isolating. The MVEG Network links organic growers and ag professionals across the Midwest.

Nick, a Minnesota farmer who also works for the Land Stewardship Project, has found that being part of MVEG means he and other farmers can tap into deeper pools of knowledge and resources.

This is where you come in! Supporting these crucial connections leads to local growers thriving and being better able to provide high quality food to our communities.

Farmers grow our food - but they can’t do it alone. Networks like MVEG make sure our local farmers have the information and support they need to flourish.

For the past ten months, FairShare's Executive Director, Rachael Maysels, has had the privilege of being part of the inaugural cohort of the Goodman Nonprofit Center's Executive Director Fellowship.

Alongside 16 fellow executive directors from nonprofits across the Madison area, Rachael spent the year building relationships, strengthening leadership skills, and learning from an incredible community of peers committed to making our region stronger.

We're grateful to the Goodman Nonprofit Center for investing in nonprofit leaders and fostering a network of support that will continue long after the program's conclusion. Congratulations to the entire inaugural cohort, and thank you to the Goodman Nonprofit Center, the facilitators, and everyone who helped make this experience so meaningful. Here's to continuing to learn, collaborate, and serve our communities together!
