Ended housing week with an ADU ribbon cutting event celebrating accessible housing, thoughtful density, and homes that help people live where life happens.

Last week I was excited to participate in AARP's "Six Minutes, One Idea" session, where community voices take turns sharing BIG housing ideas in a rapid-fire format. My topic explored how faith communities may be an overlooked solution to the housing shortage. Other topics included accessibility, parking, and Willie street traffic.

Had a great time attending the “Turning the Key to Homeownership” event with Habitat for Humanity of Dane County. 🏡

Really powerful to be in a room with so many people—residents, lenders, developers, and advocates—all focused on one question:
👉 How do we make homeownership more accessible?

What stood out most is that people are ready. They’re asking questions, showing up, and looking for real pathways forward.

We just need to keep building systems, policies, and opportunities that meet people where they are.

Grateful to be part of these conversations and to continue this work in our community. 💬

Sharon Johnson Welcomed to Housing Policy Committee

I’m excited to share that I’ve been appointed to the City of Madison Housing Policy Committee. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to ongoing conversations around housing policy, development, and growth across the city. I’m looking forward to engaging with fellow committee members, city staff, and community stakeholders to help inform thoughtful, balanced approaches to housing. It’s an important step in continuing to ensure that community perspectives are reflected in decisions that shape Madison’s future. - Sharon

The Madison Black Chamber of Commerce hosted its 8th annual awards ceremony, The Eras Ball. Madison for More Neighbors maintained a vendor presence to promote initiatives and establish networking connections; it was a great way to connect with the community.
