Tommy is a Madison, Wisconsin–raised vibraphonist, drummer, composer, arranger, and bandleader specializing in Latin jazz and salsa. After studying percussion and jazz vibraphone at the University of Wisconsin, he moved to Brooklyn in 1992, where he immersed himself in New York’s vibrant Latin music scene.

Influenced by legends such as Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Cal Tjader, and Thelonious Monk, Tommy developed a signature sound blending jazz vibraphone with Latin rhythms and sophisticated arrangements.

He co-founded Grupo Latin Vibe in the mid-1990s alongside Anibal “Tito” Rivera. The group became internationally recognized during its long-running residency at The Parkside Lounge in New York City, releasing acclaimed albums including Mambo City, All That Vibe, and Amanecer.

In 2024, Tommy contributed to the creation of Nostalgia, a vinyl remastering and compilation celebrating highlights from the group’s catalog.
