It is with a heavy heart that I inform our membership of Kim Boyd’s passing. While specific details are unavailable, what is known is that Kim will be incredibly missed. She recently “re-retired” from teaching in Florida after retiring from our BOCES several years ago. One of her latest FB posts was about how surreal it was to leave the classroom for the last time. Teaching was ingrained in Kim.
Kim leaves behind two wonderful, strong sons, a daughter-in-law and a beautiful granddaughter, who was truly the joy of Kim’s life.
Those of us who worked with Kim knew her fiery spirit, her dedication and most of all her unwillingness to compromise her values or her integrity. She built and maintained relationships with her students that outlived their time in the classroom and allowed them to be friends as adults. I know one young man in particular who would trade “barbs” with her on Facebook. It was a mutual admiration society for the two of them.

Kim, you will be missed and today, I’ll be ringing some bells in your honor to warn the angels that you’re coming and to ask them to make space a space worthy of you in the Heavenly mansion. Tracy E.
