The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a

* Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams in...
Northwestern Franklin County in northern New York...
St. Lawrence County in northern New York...

* Until 945 PM EDT.

* At 650 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain which could cause flooding. Up to two inches of rain
have already fallen. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is
possible, especially within stronger thunderstorms over central
Saint Lawrence County.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Potsdam, Massena, Gouverneur, Canton, Ogdensburg, Norfolk,
Oswegatchie, Lisbon, Louisville, Moira, De Kalb, Bangor, Fowler,
Parishville, Fort Covington, Colton, Bombay, Massena International
Airport - Richards Field, Helena and Burke.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
