Have you ever noticed how often some senior women leaders are praised for being “superwoman”? For carrying it all, doing the most alone, being overly dependable, holding the pressure without letting it show.
At some point, “I can handle it” can quietly become a leadership habit that is actually holding you back.
And being praised for doing the most can make it harder to admit when the weight has become too much to carry alone.
Carrying it all alone is not a badge of honor.

For many senior women leaders, it may be a sign that the responsibility around the role has grown, but the systems, structures, boundaries, and strategic support around the leader have not grown with it.

That is when strong leaders can find themselves overextending, absorbing too much, and trying to make an expanded role work with outdated support around it.
