six of swords // I got a tarot reading recently and I really resonated with this card which suggested at that radical hope I'm always going on about. So I drew my version of it for today's inktober.

The card means a journey or transition, one from difficulty to eventually more hopeful. A sign that, while things might be rough, there is the possibility of finding a path forward, moving towards a community or support network that helps you navigate through the chaos.

I've always wanted to design my own tarot deck. Do you think I should?

As is custom I draw my baby's portraits when they pass. Added Katherine today. Idk if I believe in heaven or something like it but if I went I'd be greeted by all these guys 🥰

My new album THIS APPEARING is out NOW!
Oh man, where do I even begin… This album has been one and a half years in the making. One song, the closing track Never The Same, even dates back three years. I didn’t set out to write an album. I was just trying to catch fragments of moments and emotions, hoping they would give rise to something greater. The songs made me do it. They compelled me to write more. And I did. There were at least three songs that didn’t make the cut, which changed the whole album as a whole drastically. I released my first album Make Dark The Light in 2017. A ramshackle and haphazard collection of every tune I had written as Applethief at that point. I finished that album in my bedroom, admidst heartbreak and healing. This Appearing and my first album are sonically worlds apart, but I still think this new collection of songs is a spiritual successor to the first. Maybe This Appearing has more intention and experience behind it, but it’s still Applethief.

Thank you to friends who helped me on this lonely trek across these eleven songs. Thank you also for sharing in the triumphs, for there were many. I think I stretched my abilities in songwriting and production pretty wide, and I hope that show in a good way.

And thank you again .design for the incredible cover art. It really brought the album home.
