The Sky Is Falling
We’ve all heard the folk tale about a chicken who tries to warn his companions that the world is coming to an end by yelling, “The sky is falling!”
It all starts with him being hit on the head by an acorn. Of course, no one could deny his experience of being hit with the acorn.
However, his conclusion about what that meant was reactive.
What’s even more concerning is how everyone believed what he said and started running frantically around as if it were true.
No one took the time to verify it.
How could they? It had just happened.
Sounds a lot like the days we’re living in.
People jump to conclusions, spread fear and rumors, until everyone is in a panic.
In that panic, people follow the crowd like the blind leading the blind rather than thinking critically.
Ultimately, they allow fear to drive their decisions.
Moral of the story…
When we overreact initially, we can create unnecessary fear for others.
We don’t want to believe every alarming report we hear or come to conclusions based on emotions.
We don’t want to be reactive, but instead gather evidence and respond appropriately.
Verify before you amplify; investigate before you panic.

Make Decisions Based on Alignment, Not Pressure
This might sound selfish at first, but it’s not.
Too many people make decisions based on other people’s expectations, opinions, reactions, or disappointments, while ignoring what’s happening inside themselves.
I used to do the same thing.
But eventually I realized that constantly trying to keep everyone else happy leads to regret, frustration, resentment, and exhaustion.
Now, I make decisions based on what I believe God is leading me to do.
Sometimes that includes considering other people deeply.
Sometimes it doesn’t.
Not every decision is supposed to be controlled by the fear of upsetting someone.
Other people are responsible for how they respond to your decisions.
You are responsible for making them with integrity, wisdom, peace, and honesty.
Scripture says,
“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.”
1 Corinthians 14:33
Most people were never taught how to make decisions this way.
They react emotionally.
Delay difficult choices.
Seek endless advice.
Or stay stuck trying to avoid disappointing people.
That’s one reason I’ve spent so much of my life helping people learn how to process important decisions clearly and confidently.
If you’re facing a decision where something important is at stake, and you need clarity, confidence, and peace in how to move forward…
Let’s talk.
