3D printing makes laptop hinge repairs or broken plastics that hold screws in place much easier fix at a much better price. The 3D printed parts can be used to hold hinges, screens, & any other part that is required for screws to be made. To replace broken parts before was to replace the case that was broken. These parts range from $60 at best to over $100. With 3D printed parts being used to replace the broken plastics prices for $60 to $100 to replace the cases to 30 cents to 65 cents each print. The provided pictures clearly shows the case should of been replaced. But with 3D printed parts and good epoxy the repairs have been very successful and cheaper. I got the printer is September of 2020 and 7 laptops have been repaired using this method and everyone hasn't had any issues with hinge failures since. Long term I will have to wait and see what happens but so far the finding are look good as this being a long term repair. I have been asked what if the 3D print fails. I found that if Epoxy is heated up with a heat gun that the Epoxy will loosen up to the point it can be removed. I figure that the 3D printed part that fails can just be replace with a new one as long as the original case can support the stress and the replacement. I am providing a 6 month warranty on 3D printed parts and labor at this time to give customers peace of mind during the trial faze of this process. The pictures provided are from different models. The original case plastics I used a Dremel to make the case smooth and then printed the size of replacement needed to hold the nut.
