Happy 136th Anniversary Statue of Liberty! The State of Liberty was a gift from France to the United States and dedicated on this day on October 28, 1886. Last night’s Waxing Crescent Moon setting behind the Statue of Liberty. If you look to the left of the Moon 🌙, you will see a dark circle. The circle is referred to as Earthshine. Earthshine is a dull glow which lites up the unlit part of the moon when the Sun’s light reflects off the Earth’s surface and back onto the Moon.
