Drinking is a play set to premiere at the 2023 New York Theater Festival!

Drinking is an incredible production that explores the complexities of human relationships and the role that alcohol plays in our lives. The play is filled with emotion, humor, and raw, honest moments that will leave you thinking long after the curtains have closed.

KEVIN LEE-Y GREEN - Director of the stage play "Drinking" is a director, choreographer, and community arts educator; a native of Bolivia, North Carolina and a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where he studied contemporary dance and ballet.

Over a 15-year career, he has worked with acclaimed dance artists including: Rosie Herrera, Sidra Bell, Camille A Brown. Brown, David Parsons, Clay Taliafero, Sean Sullivan (Limon), Dianne Markham (Louis & Nikolai), and Brenda Daniels (Cunningham).

Green was mentored by the late theater director, Gerald Freedman, while a member of a touring All School Production at UNCSA. His work has also been seen on Fox’s television series “Our Kind of People,” the Lifetime movie “Line Sisters,” Amazon Prime’s “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” and the upcoming Fox Searchlight Picture “The Supremes At Earl’s All You Can Eat.”

His direction credits include: Dreamgirls, West Side Story, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Su***de When The Rainbow is Enuf, The Wiz, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hairspray, Sophisticated Ladies, and many more.

He is the founder of Techmoja Dance and Theater Company— an inclusive and diverse dance and theater company created in partnership with his mother, community leader and culture bearer Donna Joyner Green.

Through exemplary dance, Techmoja brings people together, enriches communities, and centers diversity as a positive social value. Under Kevin’s guidance, Techmoja recently launched performances at several staging along the east coast.

Drinking opens at The New York Theater Festival in on 24th April, 2023.

Chandler Burns is a writer and performer originally from North Carolina who made his writing / directing debut into professional theater with his play, "Goodnight." in Wilmington, North Carolina in 2018.

Since then he has been published in The Athena Review and the Boredom, and the Horror, and the Glory. His latest work , is set to premiere at the New York Theater Festival this 2023.

Highlights in Chandler's acting career include "Tape" (Jon), "The House of Yes" (Marty), "The Picture of Dorian Gray" (Basil), and starring in his own plays, "Goodnight" and "Drinking".
