Early Music activities at Kansas State University’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance

04/20/2026

The K-State Madrigal & Motet Ensemble (MaMo) is currently auditioning *returning students for the Fall 2026 semester.

MaMo is a select, mixed-voice chamber ensemble specializing in unaccompanied vocal music from the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Singers should have strong music reading skills, an independent work ethic, and be excited to sing 1-3 on a part in a small ensemble. Tenors and basses are especially needed!

The process consists of a short independent audition with MaMo Director, Prof. David Simmons Wood, and callbacks will be held during the week of May 4-8 with the rest of the ensemble. Email [email protected] to set up an audition.

MUSIC119 - 0-1 credit. Rehearses 2-3 hours a week including 1:30-2:20pm Fridays, and additional hours according to the ensemble members' schedules.

*Incoming students will be able to audition the first week of the fall semester in August 2026.
