Went on another urban adventure today. Leaning into the words of my friend, enjoying “the sweet part” of summer. My walk reminded me of all the long walks I’d go on when I lived in Chicago, through the in-between spaces where pedestrians rarely tread. To the quiet hum of suburban neighborhoods and industrial highways. The birds seemed especially chatty today but they’re always like that. I easily forget. I love when wilting roses look like paper with the edges burnt.
