The Fire Department has received multiple reports of solicitors going door to door attempting to sell fire alarms, fire alarm monitoring contracts or conduct "Fire Department Inspections" by telling residents that these items are required or they will be fined.

As a reminder, we do not inspect individual homes unless requested, we do not sell contracts or require a fire alarm in your home (smoke detectors are required, but not a fire alarm) and we will always be in uniform and can be identified by our patch, name tag, and badge.

It has come to our attention that these solicitors have become argumentative with residents, please contact Manteca Police via the non-emergency line to report any aggressive soliciting at 209-456-8101.
