Today we celebrated World Autism Acceptance Day by taking pride in what makes each of us unique 💙

Students shared their strengths, interests, and the things that make them...them! It was a beautiful reminder that every learner brings something meaningful to our community.

At Washington Spectrum Schools, this isn’t just something we celebrate one day a year. We’re committed to creating an environment where students are supported in being who they are every single day.

Today we celebrate Autism Acceptance Day 💙🩷❤️🧡💛💚💜

Acceptance means creating spaces where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.

At Washington Spectrum Schools, we are proud to be part of a community that values neurodiversity and is committed to building more inclusive, supportive educational experiences for all learners.

Every student deserves a school where they can truly learn, grow, and feel supported.

At Washington Spectrum Schools, we’re working to open a public school designed for neurodiverse learners—and we want to hear from you.

We’re asking parents, caregivers, and community members to take a short survey.

Your input will help us better understand the needs of families in our community and ensure we are building a school that truly supports students and their families.

The survey is quick, and your perspective makes a meaningful difference.

Every student deserves a school where they can truly learn, grow, and feel supported.

At Washington Spectrum Schools, we’re working to open a public school designed for neurodiverse learners—students who benefit from structured environments, individualized instruction, and compassionate support.

Too many families are left choosing between options that don’t fully meet their child’s needs. We believe there’s a better way.

Right now, we’re at a critical step in making this vision a reality—and we need your help.

💙 We’re asking for short letters of support from our community.

Your letter can be brief, but it plays a powerful role in showing that families, educators, and community members believe in the need for more inclusive, effective school options.

If you’re willing to support us:
📩 Send us a message or email us at [email protected]

🗓 Letters are due by April 5

If you know of others who would benefit from a school like ours or who are looking to support more school choice for Washington students, please share this post.

Thank you for being part of a community that believes every student deserves the opportunity to succeed.

🎉 April 18 – Day Out for Autism (Washington Autism Alliance)
A family-friendly event with activities, resources, and opportunities to connect.

🏃 April 26 – All in for Autism Run/Walk
A morning of movement, connection, and raising awareness for individuals and families impacted by autism.

These events are a great opportunity to come together, build community, and celebrate the strengths and contributions of neurodiverse individuals.

Every day at Washington Spectrum Schools, we see the impact of Applied Behavior Analysis in action.

A student raises their hand for the first time.
A conversation with a peer about a shared interest.
A moment of independence that once felt out of reach.

These moments are not accidental—they are built through intentional, evidence-based teaching that helps students grow with confidence.

This World Behavior Analysis Day, we celebrate the science that helps our students discover their strengths and confidence, helping them feel proud of who they are and what they can do. 💙
