Hi, I'm Kim Johnson, Director here at Discovery Playtown, a licensed child care center. We accept children 12 months to 9 years old for up to 10 hours daily, with a focus on positive social-emotional learning. In these unique times we are living in, we know that your child care needs may have changed. Whether you need full-time care, school-age distance learning support when you can’t stay home with your child, or preschool a few days a week to get your child out of the house and learning with other kids - we can help!

Our facility is licensed for 63 children in five classrooms, far fewer than many other centers. Our smaller size offers the advantages of more personal and collaborative instruction and care, and fewer people coming and going inside the building. We maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness and follow a strict health policy including daily screenings.

Inside our classrooms, children explore realistic full-scale playhouses including a treehouse, 2-story playhouse, and a townscape of themed shops. Our teachers guide children through a daily curriculum with structured routines and lots of small group activities. Lesson planning focuses around each child's developmental ability through observation and assessments.

Children spend lots of time outside as well in our fenced play area, featuring ride-on toys, sports equipment, sidewalk chalk, and more.
