Closing 4th for our auction site Friday: a well-maintained 1999 Honda VFR800 Interceptor; the fifth-generation of Honda’s celebrated all-rounder! It's available for bid until 1PM PT on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com
“In a market segment characterized by extremes, Honda’s VFR has always trod the middle ground––never the fastest, or the lightest, or the quickest way around a racetrack, but always a standout, biased more toward balance than bravado, a sportbike for the real world.” That’s how Motorcyclist magazine introduces Honda’s legendary Interceptor in this timeline of the model.
Manufactured in November, 1988, this example's odometer shows 14,244 miles.
Per the seller: “I have changed the oil, replaced the tires, replaced the regulator/rectifier with a Roadster Cycle SH847 kit, had the original seat re-covered, and done chain and sprockets. Oil change is less than 1,500 miles old. I am happy to change it for a serious buyer.”
“I installed a Roadster Cycle Shindengen SH847 regulator/rectifier kit and removed a malfunctioning Speedo Healer; Power Commander installed by a previous owner.”
“The upper fairing is an OEM Honda replacement; the wheels were done in half black/half polished aluminum at some point”
Modifications:
-Staintune muffler
-Stock replacement JT sprockets and Renthal chain
The sale includes a Corbin Gunfighter seat, and assorted extras including a Conductor tool kit pouch, open-end wrench, hook/c-spanner wrench, original owners manual, and passenger grab rails.
Currently located in Staunton, Virginia, this Honda is offered on a clean Virginia title.

Third to finish for the Iconic Motorbikes auction site Friday's been “fully customized it into the ultimate track trailer.” It's a 2017 Mirage XE Cargo 6’x12′ Trailer and it's available for bid until 12PM PT on Iconicmotorbikeauctions.com
Founded in 2003 in Nampa, Idaho, Mirage offers a variety of trailers ranging from entry-level cargo to fully custom car haulers. The seller of this XE Cargo trailer purchased it new from a dealership and “fully customized it into the ultimate track trailer.”
The XE Cargo is Mirage’s workhorse enclosed trailer, built on a steel frame and designed as a blank canvas that owners can configure to suit their needs.
The seller has used this trailer for approximately three years of track days.
The owner recently sold a 2020 Triumph Daytona Moto2™ 765 Race Bike through Iconic — the very bike this trailer was built to carry. He is selling both as he is downsizing due to some health issues.
Maintenance:
“Every trip my personal mechanic does a full 100 point inspection. It had a new 6000lbs axle fitted about a year ago.”
This trailer has many modifications and extras, please see the photos tab for more detail. The sale includes two sets of keys for multiple locks.
Currently located in Panorama City, California, this Mirage trailer is offered on a clean California Permanent Trailer title.

Ending 2nd for Iconic Friday's a set of rare Öhlins FG7700 race-only forks made for the Ducati 916, complete with magnesium triple clamps, unused by the current owner! This set's available for bid until 11AM PT on iconicmotorbikeauctions.com
Per the seller, the Ohlins FG7700 “forks were made for the Ducati 916R and were race only forks. Very rare piece of kit. They come with the magnesium triple clamps as well.”
The seller acquired these from a private party in California through an eBay auction one year ago. He was planning on installing them on his Ducati 916 but later decided to go with “a more road-going set of forks.” He has not used them during his ownership.
The forks have Lindemann Engineering stickers on them but details are not known about the internals.
Currently located in Manhasset, New York, this set of Ohlins forks is offered on a Bill of Sale only.
Pardon the sweat but it’s in the mid 90’s here today….phew!!
Iconic Motorboxes are doing well and with each trip I’ve learned a bit more. We just had one ship to Indiana last week and it arrives tomorrow.
Mid Texas to us was 3-4 days (3 bikes) and this one to RI should arrive when I’m on the east coast as I’m headed to Bristol Beach House late next week to work on the property.
I’ve talked to Cycle Cynch , they are creating a new spring loaded loop set up so hooks won’t bounce out. The zip ties are just a precautionary measure until those show up.
Iconic Motorbikes is the ONLY auction company on the planet that offers Service, crating, Iconic MotoBoxes, Iconic Transport, cool swag and even parts / accessories through Iconic Moto Market
As the saying goes….we are your “soup to nuts” motorbike company and I don’t mean the hairy type!
As our use grows for Iconic MotoBoxes, so will our coverage. I’ve committed to some of our shipping hubs that we will help buy them sprinter vans for the last mile or pick up side once volume justifies the spend.
PS. You don’t have to buy a bike from us to use Iconic Transport but it sure would be nice :).
