I no longer post sweet sonnets or bitter tirades on Facebook; however, Major League Baseball's World Series Matchup is compelling, with historical context and national appeal in the two largest markets in the United States. My thoughts on the Yankees vs. Dodger clash are neither biased nor boastful; I'm nostalgic and grateful to relive and witness what promises to be 12 rounds of heavyweight exchanges by two of the best teams in Baseball this year. Many dreamt of a much-anticipated contest that would be so good for Baseball nationally, where the NFL reigns supreme; Baseball may usurp Football on primetime for the first time in decades.

What I mean when I say " relive " is that I became a Yankees fan during the 77 World Series while in NY, taking in the October classic with Papi (that's my grandfather). The pinstripes, the NY-electriCITY, that thing that can only be described in one way, magical; furthermore, Reggie hitting three homers against the Dodgers in the Fall classic; fuhgeddaboudit I'm hooked and have been since that salient day that is so etched in my memory like a grand canyon.

The best team will win this series. Talent and might aside, grit, fortitude, resilience, and aptitude will determine the victor.

Not only will casuals be transfixed with heart palpitations, but even the likes of my Mother et al. will make for record-setting ratings for what was and always will be our national pastime—that's baseball, and it's back!
