"Play Like a Girl: Flag Football in the City of Champions" is on display in the Paul Brown Museum at MassMu through July 12, 2026!
06/22/2026
Artwork by Bb Blandford, Bruce Budd, David L. Dingwell, Zach Finn, Errick Freeman, Israel Katina, Miranda Marsh, Ashley Palmer, and Jessica Wilhelm will fill the Massillon Museum’s Fred F. Silk Community Room Gallery through September 13, 2026, in the exhibition, "Introducing Massillon Community Arts Council: Creativity within Community."
Artwork by members of the Massillon Community Arts Council reflects both personal expression and a shared purpose—to use art as a way to connect, uplift, and activate the community. Rooted in history and driven by creativity, this exhibition offers a glimpse into the energy behind the council and the future it hopes to build.

Errick Freeman, "Art: Official Intelligence," 2024, Pyrochromatic painting and reclaimed electronics on expanded steel frame
Freeman writes, "Official Intelligence" is a critique of digital automation that emphasizes the necessity of physical mastery and human intentionality. By framing the hand-painted portrait within a 'nervous system' of reclaimed hardware, this artwork reimagines the ancestor as a Digital Griot whose story is amplified, not replaced, by the tools of the future.
