PUPDATE… Bear will find a “mom” somewhere in CT with his new rescue. If interested in adopting, pm me and I will connect.
“Could you be my mother????” No, not the book … but BEAR is asking you!
BEAR is a young 3 months/14 lbs puppy who needs an adopter or rescue! He will be a mid-size dog.
He was found abandoned at somrone’s home in Texas. They fed him until he became ill. Our rescue X-Port Paws got him to the hospital. After treatment for a mild case of parvovirus, he is now on the mend and completing his vaccines.
Please reach out if you can fulfill his request.

In response to the most recent horrible cruelty case by a dog rescue in CA ……
There are hundreds of rescues out there. Some really great ones… and some awful ones. We all hear the stories of the ones that went “south”. Liz and I also see the debates that go on amongst our rescue peers, bickering instead of working together as joined forces.
We feel it is important to share more about who we are and what we stand for in the age where everything and everyone is under scrutiny.
X-Port Paws (XPP) was created 2020 by Liz Stockton. She has had years volunteering and fostering in the rescue sphere. Her heart broke for the dogs that were left behind because of their looks, medical or just needing extra training to show that they could be someone’s beloved family member.
Enter myself, Michelle. I had just retired from working in the medical field. I found purpose in helping rescue dogs, transport and volunteering at shelters to walk dogs. Liz and I connected at XPP’s infancy through a rescue advocate.
From day one, we have made sure that every penny we received went directly to the dogs…food, housing, medical and transport. From the beginning , we felt the best practice for these dogs is to connect them with local rescues who could ensure home checks and be a safety net should the dog be returned. We started building relationships with rescues that had excellent reputations. When feasible, we visited our rescue partners. Deep conversations were made to ensure their philosophy of dog rescue was in check with ours. Dogs are not hoarded. Adoption reports are given. And follow-ups are continued.
Six years later we are still doing what we set out to do.
Helping those most in need….. saving from kill shelters and strays on the street. Almost 3000 lives later, we are proud of our small but mighty little rescue. We couldn’t do this without your support. Thank you for trusting in us …and in so doing, you help our pups, young and old, relearn to give their trust and love to humans who make them family.
Picture below ..,Momma Dobie and her 5 pups saved before put down in Tx . Now all adopted in upstate NY.
Thank you NEW FRIENDS OF CAROLINA for having Liz speak about X-Port Paws and the world of dog rescue. It was a beautiful luncheon. We were so happy to share our experiences saving lives and the need for continued support of animal rescue to end the cycle of cruelty. More to come.
