Living with ADHD can often feel like trying to organize a hurricane. 🌪️🧠 If your brain constantly feels overstimulated or task paralysis keeps you from starting, please know: you are not lazy. You just process this big world beautifully and differently.
Here are 3 gentle, practical tips to help find some calm today:
1️⃣ Try 'Body Doubling': If you’re struggling to start something (like chores, homework, or paperwork), try doing it in the same room as someone else who is also working quietly. Just having a gentle, anchoring presence nearby can help your brain stay on track.
2️⃣ Keep Lists Kind and Visible: Out of sight often means out of mind for ADHD. Use a colorful whiteboard or friendly sticky notes where you can easily see them. Visual reminders are a wonderful way to cue your brain without adding stress.
3️⃣ Give Yourself Permission to Pivot: Forcing yourself to sit still for hours usually backfires. Try working in short, high-energy bursts, then intentionally switch tasks or take a quick movement break.
