The 1960s were a decade of rapid transformation, as expanding highways, growing suburbs, and rising industry reshaped the Midwest. For DGL (then known as Sanzenbacher, Miller and Brigham), this era marked significant growth in transportation, infrastructure, and emerging markets. The firm played a key role in major roadway and bridge projects, including work along the I-75 corridor, while also expanding into growing markets such as parks & recreation and university development.

As the first company in northwest Ohio to utilize the IBM G-15 computer, Caltec (a DGL technology-focused subsidiary) brought advanced computing power to our industry, supporting complex design calculations and pioneering early applications of the Critical Path Method for project scheduling.

From Cold War-era defense studies to modern campus planning, DGL adapted to new challenges with a forward-thinking approach.
