Here is a simple step by step guide for Vipassana meditation:
π§ Step 1: Prepare
Sit in a quiet place
Keep your back straight (chair or floor is fine)
Close your eyes gently
Hands relaxed on knees or lap
π¬οΈ Step 2: Start with Anapana (Breath Awareness)
Bring attention to your natural breath
Focus on the area below the nose and above the upper lip
Do NOT control breathing β just observe
π Notice:
Air coming in (cool sensation)
Air going out (warm sensation)
π― Step 3: Train the Mind
Your mind will wander β this is normal
Each time it wanders: β Gently bring it back to the breath
No frustration, no judgment
π‘ Goal: Sharpen concentration and awareness
β³ Step 4: Practice Consistency
Start with 10β15 minutes daily
Slowly increase to 30β60 minutes
Stay patient β progress is gradual
π Step 5: Transition to Vipassana (Insight)
After a few days of steady Anapana:
Expand awareness to the entire body
Observe sensations (tingling, heat, pressure, etc.)
Move attention systematically from head to toe
βοΈ Step 6: Practice Equanimity
Do not react to sensations
β No craving (pleasant)
β No aversion (unpleasant)
π Just observe:
βThis is temporary.β

Vipassana teaches:
