EDITOR'S NOTE – I mentored so many writers and would-be writers over the six years that were Gazette 2.0. To be honest, I can't remember many of their names. Yet, I'll never forget Jamie Wiggan. His dry sense of humor and my warped sense of humor got along famously.
During his first trip to the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania's Golden Quill Awards, Journalist Sally Wiggin was honored for her contributions to the craft. That's the day Jamie became Sally's long-lost cousin thrice removed. (That i in Sally's last name... it's either a typo or how they spell it in the States.)
This young man should be a journalist. Hell, he put up with me for four years so he should be set for life! I can't wait to see where his experiences in the press corps take him.
With respect,
Sonja Reis
Editor & Publisher of the now-defunct Gazette 2.0

DAY OF THE DEAD -- Last night we said farewell to staff members past and present, the crew at Center for Media Innovation at Point Park University, the Pittsburgh Media Partnership and Gazette 2.0 readers, too.
It was sad but a fulfilling celebration as we end 131 years of having a newspaper of record in McKees Rocks. Six of those years were because of the hard work of everyone at Gazette 2.0.
