For this site, we did a UX Audit at the beginning to understand who is using the site and improve the navigation to get them to the right place. Before that, it was hard for users to figure out where to go and there were multiple call-to-actions - and people would make this face 😣
Now we have one main call-to-action and directing users to attend events so people can understand the value the organization provides.
We are also pretty excited about some of the interactive animations like the networking "web" on the Home page the "orbit" animation on the About page…

Use Arrows + Faces to Guide Users
There’s something powerful we do all the time that we don’t even realize - turning and looking at something.
When you shift your gaze, that’s a cue for others to look where you’re looking. Without any other communication 👀
You can use this trick on your website too 💡
There’s a study with images of a baby looking forward at the camera and then looking to the left on a website. When the baby looked forward at the user, the user looked back. When the baby looked over their shoulder at the headline, the user looked at the headline.
A similar concept applies to arrows and can be even more powerful than a shifty gaze.
Just point where you want users to look and they’re more likely to look there 👈
