July is Disability Pride Month!

You may have seen the Disability Pride Flag before without knowing what it represents. Each color represents different experiences within the disability community.

Disability Pride reminds us that every one of us has a role in building communities where everyone belongs.

Sometimes that's holding the door open. Sometimes it's choosing an accessible meeting space.

Sometimes it's giving someone the benefit of the doubt or making room for different ways of thinking, communicating, and experiencing the world.

None of us can remove every barrier. But all of us can help someone feel like they belong.

🎉 Volunteers Needed for Children’s Festival 2026!💙

Bridging Communities is looking for volunteers to help make this year’s Children’s Festival more welcoming and inclusive for families raising children experiencing disability.

Our volunteer team helps support families throughout the festival by assisting in our Calm Corner, providing sensory supports, helping with line waiting, and creating a more accessible experience for everyone. 🤝✨

🌟 Looking for a great volunteer opportunity for teens? Sign your teen up as a Festival Runner! Youth volunteers can help support the event and enjoy the Children’s Festival after their shift ends. 🎨🎪
