Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for History Book Club! We had a great discussion of The Trial of Lizzie Borden by Cara Robertson. Next up, on Monday, August 3 at 7PM, we’ll be discussing Blitzed by Norman Ohler, which takes a look at the role drugs played throughout N**i Germany and the Third Reich.
We will meet again on Monday, September 14 at 7 PM to discuss Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond, the Pulitzer Prize-winning exploration of how geography, environment, and access to resources shaped civilizations throughout history. Please note that this is the second Monday of the month as we will be closed on the first Monday in September for Labor Day.
As a reminder, History Book Club meets on the first Monday evenings at 7 PM. We’d love to have you join us for the next discussion!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for Fantasy/Sci-Fi Book Club! We had a great discussion about The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories by Ken Liu.
We’re taking a short break in August but we’re excited to share that our October pick is Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh.
On October 1, 2026 at 7 PM, we’ll discuss this award-winning science fiction novel that follows Kyr, a soldier raised to fight for humanity’s survival, whose unwavering beliefs are challenged when she’s forced to question everything she thought she knew.
Before then, we’ll meet on September 3, 2026 at 7 PM to discuss The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch, a beloved fantasy novel filled with clever heists, unforgettable characters, and sharp wit.
We look forward to reading with you! As a reminder, Fantasy/Sci-Fi Book Club meets the first Thursday of every month at 7 PM. Happy reading!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our New Fiction Book Club discussion of Celestial Lights by Celeste Pin! We had a wonderful conversation about this emotionally layered story.
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, July 28 at 7 PM, when we’ll discuss The Burning Side by Sarah Damoff. We’re looking forward to diving into this compelling read together and hearing everyone’s thoughts.
Looking ahead, we’ll be reading Land by Maggie O’Farrell, which we’ll discuss on Tuesday, August 25 at 7 PM. A quick note from Allison: there may have been accidental misinformation shared regarding the fate of a dog in this story, but we’ll save the details for our discussion. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or are thinking about joining for the first time, we’d love to see you there. New readers are always welcome!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our Jane Austen Book Club discussion of Most Ardently by Gabe Cole Novoa! We had a wonderful conversation about this inventive retelling and the ways it explores identity & belonging.
Our next meeting will be on Sunday, July 19 at 4:30 PM, when we’ll discuss The Other Bennet Sister by Janice Hadlow. This beloved Austen-inspired novel finally gives Mary Bennet a chance to step out from her sisters’ shadows and tell her own story.
Looking ahead to August, we’ll be reading Lady Susan and The Watsons by Jane Austen. These works, although short, showcase Austen’s range. We’d love to see you there! New readers are always welcome. Jane Austen Book Club meets the third Sunday of each month at 4:30 PM.

Thanks to everyone who joined us last night for Horror Book Club’s discussion of Coffin Moon by Keith Rosson! We had a great conversation about the book and always enjoy hearing everyone’s thoughts and interpretations about the memorable characters and haunting setting.
Horror Book Club will be taking July off, but we’ll be back on Thursday, August 20th at 7 PM to discuss The Haar by David Sodergren.
Our September selection will be Carmilla by J. Sheridan Le Fanu, the classic gothic vampire novella that helped shape vampire fiction as we know it today.
As a reminder, our Horror Book Club meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7 PM. We’ll see you in August. Happy reading!
