When you're on a really powerful piece of Earth and she just calls you to take off your shoes and relax into her for a while...π¦Άβ°οΈ
My son actually encouraged ME to lay back and breathe with him π it's a beautiful feeling when you know they really are picking up on at least some of your teachings ππ
I have been thinking about rock and it's spirit as I just finished reading The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin, which focuses on characters called orogenes; to put it simply, orogenes can dive into and harness the power of the Earth and rock, being able to feel, or "sess" the innermost workings of the Earth. (There is also A LOT more going on in this book as far as social, cultural, and political commentary I cannot fit here but is so worth reading and pondering.)
Rock, although "nonliving," has a spirit all its own that is strength, support, changemaking, gentle, and ever so present. Stepping into the big rocks in this quarry area, I felt Mama Earth welcome me and remember that I am supported, that I can be strong innately of body and mind, and that strength is gentleness too, or knowing the balance of strength and softness. Rock can be shaped by winds and waters, The orogenes must find this balance as well, to be able to truly master their powers (full disclosure though, I have not read the whole series yet!) So while we work on our strength, remember you are not alone, you are supported and invited to soften into the lessons of your strength, your growth, and rest a while.
I'm thinking of ways to begin connecting my two loves--my work in the library and ecotherapy ππ³πΏ connecting nature reads, and elements of nature, in the fiction and nonfiction I read, to ecotherapy lessons. What do you think? Let's grow together π

My son and I identified a few flowers and trees today and he gave me this beautiful May Day bouquet πππ all while Daniel attempted training Pepper the cat on her harness and leash ππ±
I hope you enjoy a chance to soak up some sun in coming days and get grounded with Mama Earth and delight in her joyous flowersππΌπ·π΅οΈ
