I don’t know what’s so satisfying and scary at the same time about chamfering cylinders on a block after it’s been decked.
People keep telling me to hire someone. “Hire some kid” As much as I would love to train some young soul. Just not enough kids out there wanting to do this work. So I bought machines that can work by themselves. Lol.
Ok. Got all the heavy metal removed the the radial drill holes. Now to the balancer to get it spun and see what we have to do.

Well, here is my first experience with the new Summit Racing Blue Print blocks. This is a small block Chevy for a local shop. First look is pretty decent. There are a few things you need to look out for, like the oil passage hole from the oil filter mount is only 7/16” diameter. I opened up that. Not much material for deck machining. That’s probably my biggest bitch. Cylinders were off location more than I thought they’d be. Thankfully this block was going +.040 and had plenty of room to correct. Have not checked lifter bores yet but that’s next.
