With deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of Roshi Jules Shuzen Harris, founder of Soji Zen Center in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania.
Roshi Shuzen is a dharma heir of Roshi Enkyo O'Hara at the Village Zendo. He was a psychotherapist, an author, and a committed teacher who had the uncanny ability to be fierce and loving in equal measure in the same breath. Roshi Shuzen and Roshi Al Rapaport are long time friends, having trained together in Salt Lake City under Genpo Roshi. Shuzen gave Al Rapaport transmission in 2008.
There will be a memorial remembrance on Zoom on Tuesday evening May 16th at 7 pm ET. Information on registration and joining is on the Soji website (https://sojizencenter.com/).
