The flyer pictured above was promotional material put out in 1922 to build excitement (and funds!) to relocate the college. As you probably know by now, Rhodes wasn’t always in Memphis. And moving a college is no easy feat, especially when the state supreme court gets involved!

We had such an amazing time yesterday celebrating 20 years in our beloved Barret Library!

It was a joy to see each and every one of you: from the folks who planned and built it, the Information Services staff who have been honored to work here, and the faculty, staff, and students who have studied, researched, and treated the space like their home for the past two decades. ♥️

Thanks to our speakers: President Jennifer Collins, President William Troutt, Prof. Scott Newstok, Library Director Darlene Brooks and Associate Director Bill Short- thanks for sharing your memories and stories about the importance of Barret to our college community. Special thanks to all the folks that traveled from far away to come home for the celebration.
