Orange Mound Community Services Center presents Back to School: Bridge to a Brighter Year! Join us Saturday, August 2, at Orange Mound Community Services Center for a full day of fun starting at 8 a.m. with Walk/Run the Mound, a talent showcase, kickball, and sack races — followed by our epic back-to-school drive from 11 a.m. –3 p.m.! 🚌

We’re giving away 1,000 FREE backpacks filled with supplies. 🎒

We’ll have a book fair, free food, resource tables, free haircuts, bounce houses, and obstacle courses. There will also be food trucks, an ice cream truck, jewelry making, balloon art, and so much more. 📚

❤️Financial Foundations- By implementing the "Financial Foundations" initiative, the Memphis Essential Millennials Foundation empower African-American youth and millennials to take control of their financial futures, build wealth, and achieve economic stability and prosperity for themselves and their communities.
❤️ Healing Circle- By implementing the “Healing Circle" initiative, the Memphis Essential Millennials Foundation offer trauma-informed care resources and community healing circles to support African-American youth and millennials who have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences. Provide a safe and supportive space for participants to process their experiences, heal from past traumas, and build resilience.
❤️College and Career Collaboration- By implementing the “College & Career" initiative, the Memphis Essential Millennials Foundation assist African-American youth and millennials in preparing for college and career, navigating the college admissions process, and accessing financial aid and scholarship opportunities. Provide guidance, resources, and support to ensure that each individual have the opportunity to pursue higher education and excel in their desired career choice.
❤️Peaceful Solutions -By implementing the “Peaceful Solutions" initiative the Memphis Essential Millennials Foundation will assist with equipping African-American youth and millennials with the skills and strategies needed to resolve conflicts peacefully and constructively. The program will provide participants with practical tools, resources, and support to effectively manage conflicts in their personal lives, schools, and communities.

Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community, there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved and make a difference with us.

Here are just a few ways you can volunteer with the Memphis Essential Millennials Foundation:

• Assist with organizing and planning events, workshops, and programs for millennials in our community.
• Serve as a mentor or role model for youth, providing guidance, support, and encouragement as they navigate their academic and personal journeys.
• Help with administrative tasks such as data entry, email communications, and social media management to support our day-to-day operations.
• Participate in community outreach efforts to raise awareness about our organization and our mission, and to connect with individuals and families in need of our services.
• Contribute your skills and expertise in areas such as event planning, marketing, fundraising, or graphic design to help us further our goals and expand our reach.

No matter your community experience level, there is a place for you on our team. Your time and talents can make a significant difference in the lives of African-American youth and millennials in our community, helping them reach their full potential and excel socially and academically.
