When you see those ads on TV with Joe Namath, JJ Walker, and the rest of the celebrates ... these are "PAID" spokes people that work with call centers, they are not Medicare Specialists and WILL NOT be there for you when they screw up and put you in the wrong plan! This has been my biggest headache this year. I have already had to undo several clients that fell for the old bait & switch.

I am licensed and contracted with every major carrier, they DO NOT have anything different than any independent broker. Find a independent agent that is licensed and contracted with all the major carriers and let them help guide you in the right plan that meets your needs and your budget.

It does not cost you anything to use an agent (we get paid by the insurance companies) so there is NEVER a charge to use an agent!

BTW when selling season is over they will NOT be there for you!

HSA's: Why they are good for almost everyone if their plan qualifies. There are multiple options out there. Lively is the number 1 at moment as it is free and does not require a minimum balance and it also allows you to transfer funds easily from your bank account to the HSA online or via an app. If your company or Group offers and matches it is a wise decision to participate.

2019 guidelines are $3500 for an individual with additional $50 over if last year one was in place already, $7000 for married w/ additional $100 if had one in 2018.

55 and over it increases by $500-550 for an individual and $1000-1100 for married making it $4000-4100 or $8,000-8100
It rolls over annually tax free until Medicare eligible. It can pay for dental and orthodontic service, vision services so if you have co-pays or deductibles with dental and vision it is very useful, especially with braces. It can be used to pay all prescription drug co pays, acupuncture, physical therapy, occupational therapy etc.

We also recommend our clients that have HSA's and are going onto Medicare and having to pay tax on roll a portion into a fixed indexed annuity to pay for your Medicare plan and drug coverage without having to dip into you retirement income. It is an wise decision in most people's case.
