I've lowered the cap of donations so we can move forward with potential sponsors. Fundraising update: What a gorgeous weekend we had! Great donations coming in, great weather...and if we keep combining the two we can be enjoying these beautiful weekends playing around on outdoor sculptures, listening to live music, and enjoying time with our friends and families!
In fact, it was a weekend just like this that inspired me to get moving on this project years ago. I was the mother of two kids under the age of 3 and step-parenting a teenager. My how time flies! Where do you take such a motley crew where everyone can enjoy themselves and you don't have to keep paying to be entertained?
We have artists working on exhibit renderings, working on public projects in order to be prepared to build these exhibits for our community, and a lot of great momentum going. Let's keep it up.
And be sure to follow up with our updates to see the progress we are making! It's a team effort. More info to come as we push forward!

That moment you Google search your name and a picture pops up of you in the bathtub...this was when we did the Rock-n-Romp next to the Marine Hospital downtown. We entertained kids for many a Rock-n-Romp keeping them busy making musical instruments so they could play along with the bands. A permanent place to jam is one of our Junkyard "must-haves." Let's keep the moment for this going! https://www.gofundme.com/junkyardseed

16 donors + 2 days equals $925 towards our $50,000 seed goal. We have a LOT of support building, and I am so lucky that my 2 biggest supporters live under my own roof! They have made announcements in their classes, texted their friends and they are even passing notes around (sorry teachers). Let's do this for our kids, they deserve it. You can donate here, no amount is too small: https://www.gofundme.com/junkyardseed
Where are the art teachers? Comment with thoughts!

Want to see an interview from when I started this year's ago? Enjoy! (While I cringe) and donate if you want me to make more of these, haha or donate so that I don't: https://www.gofundme.com/junkyardseed
The Junkyard Memphis Junkyard founder Lisa Williamson talks about the museum's new temporary home, as well as her plans for the future.
Fundraising update: we have broken $500 in 24 hours so far, and steadily inching towards our goal for $50,000. If every day is as successful as yesterday, we will reach our goal by summer, how amazing is that?
We have based our plan on City Museum in St. Louis, but the concept of an adult sized playground built for all ages is not new. Showing up in childrens museums, high art museums and even Burning Man, it looks like a lot of people love recapturing those little thrills from childhood. Check out these slides by artist Carsten Holler in London to see what I mean, then donate and share this with your friends! https://www.gofundme.com/junkyardseed
