ARISE2Read

It’s been an incredible year partnering with ARISE2Read as TRA’s 2025-26 Charity of Choice! Through the generosity of our school community, we raised more than $30,000 to support literacy initiatives for children across the Memphis area. Funds were raised through monthly $2 Dress Down Days, TRA/ARISE2Read t-shirt sales, a Senior Project book drive, and our annual Vendor Wonderland, which featured more than 140 merchants. Our Senior Project team partnered closely with ARISE2Read, collecting copies of How to Catch a Turkey in the fall and organizing a spring service event where 120 volunteers assembled 4,000 summer reading kits for students at 48 Memphis-area schools. Each backpack included 7 books, school supplies, sunglasses, and logos from ARISE2Read, TRA, and the Memphis Grizzlies. In addition to the funds already donated through the Senior Project, TRA is honored to present ARISE2Read with a check for $26,429 to support their mission. We are grateful for the life-changing work ARISE2Read does for children and families throughout our community and are thankful for the opportunity to support their efforts. Dr. LaTonya Mouzon, Executive Director of ARISE2Read, shared: “Over $30,000 raised for ARISE2Read this school year is absolutely incredible. The impact this will have on the young readers we serve is immeasurable. Thank you to TRA’s leadership, students, families, staff, and supporters. You are truly changing lives!”
