What’s your Cause?

CharityPuzzles.com has grown out of a hobby of mine – creating crossword puzzles. In our family, doing the daily crossword puzzle became a bit of a morning ritual, passing the puzzle around the breakfast table, looking to complete it “by committee”. Dad would always start the puzzle. Mom would be next, followed by my sister and then me.

During Covid when we became more “shut-in”, I started creating my own crossword puzzles to pass around the breakfast table. It was a great creative outlet for me and the clues I used led to many interesting conversations. The puzzles are “easy” level – more entertaining than challenging – and are nostalgic in theme. Dad has since passed, but mom still looks forward to a crossword puzzle as part of her breakfast.

Emerging from the Covid “shut-in”, I wondered what I could do with all the puzzles I created – of which there are over now over 120 of them. I thought “certainly, I can put them to use somehow.” Coupling that with my history of working with and for non-profits, CharityPuzzles.com was born.
