How could it be 7 YEARS already? My friend Jimmy was the type of friend that made you wish you were as good a friend as he was.

Jim was a wisecracking, Black Velvet drinking, cigarette smoking, master printer and he was the most thoughtful person ever. When he was on your side, there was no better ally.

Watching movies with him in his bedroom, drinking alcohol with him in his shop, going out to eat with him to Denny’s in the middle of the night….talking to him on the phone about ANYTHING.

These are a few of my favorite things with Jim.

ICONIC is a good word to describe him.

IRREPLACEABLE is a better word.

TODAY MARKS THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY of the birth of our guy JIM OMERSA!!!

I choose to celebrate the indelible memories of the man—his kindness, generosity, outrageous sense of humor and his passion for being “the best printer in Mentor!”

When Jim was your friend, he was ALWAYS a better friend to someone than they were to him. His heart was huge and he was one of the most skilled smart asses the planet has ever known.

I hereby declare September 14th “Jimmy Day” and I will celebrate with thoughts of Black Velvet and an inappropriate but hilarious joke.

It was 1,461 days ago that our Jim left us. Shockingly. Suddenly. Horribly. He was more than a brilliant printer. He was more than a friend. He was an incredibly hilarious, generous, thoughtful, entertaining force of nature that we who were close to him were privileged to have known. I continue to salute and remember this wonderful guy. I’ll always love him. It’s a Jimmy Thing!❤️❤️🔥💯🙏🏾
