Another quick reminder before the snow flies this winter to clean your exterior dryer vent and interior dryer exhaust vent pipes.

Accumulated lint in your dryer vent pipes is the leading cause of dryer-related home fires.
Clogged exterior dryer vents from lint or snow accumulation will cause your dryer to work harder and possibly overheat, which can also result in the dryer becoming a fire hazard.

Most insurance companies will not cover homes with k**b and tube wiring, if they do, your premiums will be excessively high.
This is due in part because k**b and tube wiring has an absence of a ground wire. This is a safety issue.
Also, if your home has k**b and tube wiring, you will not be able to add insulation as the exposed conductors in contact with the insulation can cause a fire.
