“Since Gio was a toddler, he would always complain about his feet hurting. Doctors attributed this to having flat feet and recommending shoes with arch support. As he became more active, the foot pain started to evolve into knee discomfort. The aches and pains began to affect his athleticism and joy in playing. It was no longer fun when the pain lingered for days after. Gio started gravitating toward a more sedentary lifestyle, and it took a toll on his overall well-being.”

We all know there are certain stages in life where establishing a solid foundation is crucial. And those ages between 10 and 12 when a kid is transitioning from child to pr***en are some of the most important. These are the years where the nervous system, the body, and the sense of self all start linking together at a deeper level.

If you can build a good foundation for a child during that window, the probability of that foundation lasting into adulthood goes way up. When a young human starts off on the wrong foot, literally or figuratively, those compensations rarely disappear on their own. They compound. They shape confidence. They shape movement. They shape identity.

That’s where FP came in for Gio. When he started with ._aguilar in April 2023 at age 10, he was dealing with 7/10 pain in his knees and feet. His structure reflected exactly what his symptoms were telling him: a lack of abdominal pressure, an anteriorly tilted pelvis, compressed ribs, winging scapulas, and feet that couldn’t distribute force efficiently. His system simply didn’t have the integration required to support the activities he wanted to do.

He trained once per week for 21 months. No hype, no gimmicks, just methodical, first-principles training designed to rebuild sequencing, pressure, and total-body integration. Today, at 12 years old, Gio is at 0/10 pain. He’s playing basketball more. His stamina is climbing. His athleticism is showing up in ways it never could when pain was running the show. And as his family put it, this new level of performance is really a reflection of “the confidence he has in his body’s ability to move without pain.”

•REPOST• Fascia is an interconnected web of connective tissue that wraps around your muscles, tissues, bones, organs, and other parts of the body.

Its function is to provide your body with scaffolding and structural support to enable movement, myofascial force transmission, and to guide communication between the different systems in your body.

One thing that isn’t discussed much is the intra-skeletal fascia, which wraps around your bones. This is the fascia that needs a specific type of force transmission to unravel so you can actually change your structure at some of the deepest levels.

That right there is the detail that separates Functional Patterns from the rest. True structural changes come from being able to influence your fascia in ways that allow it to unravel and stop wrenching on your bones, organs, tissues, and ligaments like an internal straitjacket.

Once you unravel the aspects of your fascia that are bunched up and congested like a bad traffic jam, you end up creating more balance and space for your fascia to store more collagen, which is the semi-conductive substance that enables the flow of quantum energy waves throughout the body, specifically in the form of negative charges.

When you have an abundance of negative charges, this sets the stage for healing and regeneration in the body, which is why you often see people who do Functional Patterns not just fix their pain, but also improve their movement, address their anxiety, enhance cognitive function, and more.
