🎓 Congratulations to Aysha Mena-Frometa, AAUW Meriden’s 20th — and final — Mentee!

Aysha recently graduated from Jonesboro High School in Georgia and will be attending a local community college this fall, where she plans to pursue a career as an X-ray Technician. We wish her every success as she begins this exciting new chapter!

The AAUW Meriden Mentoring Program was created to encourage young women to pursue higher education. Participants were selected as they entered middle school based on recommendations from their teachers and were paired with dedicated AAUW mentors who supported and encouraged them throughout their academic journeys.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Mentoring Scholarship Committee — Alice Meigs, Chairperson, Nancy Schmidt, Francine Zotolli, and Carolyn MacDuff — for their years of commitment and for making a lasting difference in the lives of so many young women.

Congratulations to Lamary Pires, 2026 AAUW Meriden Scholarship winner! Lamary graduated from Lyman Hall High School and plans to attend Duke University, majoring in Chemistry and Spanish. Congratulations Lamary!

Congratulations to AAUW Meriden Scholarship Winner Kaylynn Chen! Kaylynn graduated from Mark T. Sheehan High School this week and plans to attend Columbia University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Congratulations Kaylynn!
