With the freezing temperatures upon both my NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN friends, please use this opportunity! What a great start to the New year.....purge your unwanted clothes, coats, blankets, etc. BLANKETS AND COATS, things we don't even think twice about, could mean the difference between life and death for some. Even families with a home can still use blankets. We found a great need for single parent families last year. Fuel assistance is minimal at best. Many cannot afford the cost of heating their homes throughout the winter. Have you ever tried to get a good nights sleep in the cold? I ask you this...talk to your children about their classmates. The catalyst for this charity was when my 1st grade niece told me about a little girl with no coat in her class. The teacher wouldn't let her go outside. Your children are much more aware than you think. Put an extra pair of gloves in their backpack. Teach them that if they see someone in need of gloves, adult or child, pass these on. It is OUR JOB to teach the next generation compassion!!!
