Layne Scaley

Very sad day in my world, my constant companion of 7 plus years Layne Scaley passed away last night in his sleep. He had been somewhat ill for the past week or so and there were three occasions where he had over consumed water and drowned himself to the point of my having to bring him back with CPR. This was not the case last night, he was very peaceful and just wanted to be near me as he was until he fell asleep and I placed him back in his tank. Something told me I was putting him down for the last time and I woke up this morning to find that it was true. I'm just processing the loss that might seem menial to some, but to me it's a pretty big deal. I'm not going to answer any questions or hash over it any further, I will hold on to the fact that I was able to give him a really good life and that the time he spent with Kelly Welsh and I was beyond quality time. He was free to roam, a bit defiant and pushy but always loving.. he would sleep on the bed with Kelly, and ride around in my Jeep with me all the time and never once wanted to escape. I'm going to miss him like crazy and already do. So with that all I can say is rest in peace my little buddy! I love you still and I hope I gave you a wonderful life. He was 8 years old.
