No other way to put it… I was not good today.

I’d like to write it off to my ailing right hamstring/calf, which I felt most in transition where I lost an embarrassing amount of time. But the truth is, I was off from the very beginning. Despite the fastest bike/run combo, it wasn’t nearly enough to make up for a terrible swim. To be honest, despite being in the sport for 14 years, this is probably the most frustrated I’ve ever been with that part of my performance.

To add insult to injury, my burger place wasn’t open today! I had to settle for a giant street bratwurst (which was actually pretty good).

Flying back to Michigan tomorrow to pick up the girls from my parents’ house, then heading back to Arizona on Tuesday so they can start school on Wednesday. Hoping to take some time to heal up and put in a solid push for the World Championships!

Breaking in my new Synergy #1 Triathlon Wetsuit Vantage Pro before Saturday’s race here in Montreal. Swim is never my strength, but this wetsuit felt fast!
