The Georgia Grown Resource Center was created to help support small agribusiness owners. The City of Metter is the first “Georgia Grown Community” in the state.

With worsening drought and spreading wildfires, our state, our communities, and our farmers are facing increasingly dangerous conditions that are taking a real toll on livelihoods and daily life.

We’re keeping everyone affected in our thoughts and praying for rain, relief, and protection—especially for the first responders and farmers working tirelessly on the front lines of these challenges.

We’re seeing the real impacts of prolonged drought across Georgia impacting 98% of our state and putting pressure on crops, livestock, and farm operations statewide. Our farmers are resilient, but they need rain, prayers, and relief soon. Our Georgia Department of Agriculture team is closely monitoring conditions and working with partners to support producers.
