As we gather around with family and friends this holiday season, we keep those who may not have the same comforts of home in our thoughts and prayers. Our MASKmission family is grateful for all your support during Give Miami Day and towards our ongoing wellness and Relief projects. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🍁

Are you ready? The effects of Hurricane Beryl on the Caribbean islands is a reminder of the destructive nature of these disasters and the urgent plea for all to have a 2024 storm preparedness plan.

• Home: Take pictures, protect and secure your home with shutters, surge protectors, waterproof coverings, bring in outdoor items that could become airborne, withdraw cash from the bank, get fuel for vehicle and generators or power tools.

• Personal Care: Fill prescriptions and secure in waterproof containers. Have first aid kits and flashlights with batteries.

• Water: Fill large, clean aluminum or plastic containers with potable water once a hurricane warning is announced ( 1 gallon per person per day for 3-7 days is recommended). In addition, fill bathtubs for bathing and freeze other small containers for ice after a storm.

• Trees: Prune and trim trees BEFORE hurricane season and NOT during a storm watch or warning.
• Trash: Dispose of household and yard trash. Secure recycling carts.

•Evacuation: All mobile home residents should evacuate once an evacuation order is issued. Have a plan to stay with family or friends who live inland outside of the evacuation order. Consider Evacuation centers as a shelter of last resort.

•Pets: Don’t forget to protect your pets. Have enough food, water, medicines and a crate or pet carrier in case of evacuation.
