DAY 378: Another Shabbat is approaching, and our Brothers and Sisters are enduring their 378 day in cruel captivity, we must not forget them.
This week, we read the Torah portion “Shemot” (“Names”) which embodies a story of transformation and redemption. Shemot introduces us to the new reality facing the Children of Israel in Egypt, where their growth in numbers and strength arouses fear in Pharaoh. In his desperation to suppress them, Pharaoh orders all firstborn Jewish males to be thrown into the Nile, fearing that a leader might emerge to challenge his rule. Yet, in defiance of this cruel decree, Moshe is saved by his family’s courage and Hashem’s providence, setting the stage for his role as the future redeemer of the Jewish people. This Torah portion teaches that even in the depths of oppression, Hashem’s guiding hand is ever-present, preparing the path to freedom.
Moshe, raised in Pharaoh’s palace yet deeply connected to his people, emerges as the leader who will ultimately bring redemption. The courage and resilience that he displays, stepping forward despite personal risk, remind each of us of the importance of standing up for justice, even when the world around us seems hostile. This story is a powerful reminder that no matter how dark the times may seem, there is always a light that guides us, and Hashem’s presence is felt even in the most challenging circumstances.
This week, we witnessed a great victory with the elimination of the architect of the October 7th. Like in the days of Moshe, Hashem is actively guiding and protecting the Jewish people through their trials. While we celebrate this achievement during Sukkot, we also remember the brave IDF soldiers who fell this week fighting Hezbollah in Lebanon. May we honor and remember their courage and dedication in defending the people and the land of Israel, ברוך דיין האמת.
- May Hashem protect & safely return our hostages.
- May Hashem protect & guide our brave men and women of the IDF to a swift and decisive victory against those who wish us harm.
- May Hashem watch over & protect the State of Israel and the entire Jewish nation.
Shabbat Shalom, Am Yisrael Chai! ❤️🇮🇱🇺🇸❤️
